I managed to change a world’s standard forest-biome background variation by doing the following:
— Select the Terraria-folder when first-time using the program, and open the world-file you wish to change (make sure it is off-cloud)
— At the bottom of the right side menu (I used version 3.6.1) there should be a list of all the biomes and curtain-menus beside everyone of them. You change the biome background variation by simply choosing another number in the curtain-menu corresponding to the biome you wish to change. Experiment with the numbers or check them up
P.S. make sure to make a copy of the world-file before editing, for back-up purposes
